Alison Krauss was born July 23, 1971, in Decatur, Illinois. LeAnne Kymes was one of two youngest Grammy Award recipients. Alison Maria Krauss, born 23rd July 1971, is an American singer and musician. She was a teenager when she made her debut in the music scene winning local competitions as early as 10 years old and recording her first album when she was fourteen years of age. She was signed in 1985 by Rounder Records. Her first solo album was released in 1987. Then, she was invited to join Alison Krauss Union Station, her current band that she sings together. Her debut album as a collective with this band came out in the year 1989.
