Robyn Fenty, aka Robyn Rihanna [2] (/ri’aen@/ (listen), ree-AN -@;[3][4][n 1 was born on February 20, 1988. She is a Barbadian performer, actress and businesswoman. Rihanna was born in Saint Michael, Barbados and was raised in the island. She was a candidate for Evan Rogers, an American record producer, who requested her to make demo tapes in United States. After signing with Def Jam, in 2005 the singer quickly became famous after the release of her two first studio albums: Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006). These albums were inspired by Caribbean music and made it into the top ten on the US Billboard 200 Chart. The third album by Rihanna, Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), incorporated elements of dance music and established her as a sex image in the industry of music. Rihanna received her first Grammy Award for "Umbrella" the chart-topping track which launched Rihanna to international stardom. Rihanna continued to mix pop, dance and R&B genres on her next album, which included Rated R (2009) Loud (2010) and Talk That Talk (2011), and Unapologetic (2012) The last of which was her first Billboard 200 number one. The albums spawned a string of chart-topping singles, such as "Rude Boy", "Only Girl (In the World)", "What's My Name? ", "S&M", "We Found Love", "Where Have You Been" and "Diamonds". Her eighth album, Anti (2016), displayed a new style of creativity after her separation from Def Jam. It was her second US number-one album featuring the hit song "Work". In her music career, Rihanna has collaborated with several artists, including Drake, Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Ne-Yo, and Shakira. Rihanna has sold more than 250,000,000 records in the world is the second most-sold female artist in music.
